CPR and AED Courses

Do you know what to do in a life-threatening emergency? Our American Heart Association Courses can teach you skills that may save the life of a loved one, neighbor or coworker and suit your specific needs.

The RMH Wellness Center offers a wide variety of CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid courses taught by our staff of certified American Heart Association instructors for laypersons and healthcare professionals.

American Heart Association
- The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.

Heartsaver programs provide a complete health and safety solution for first aid, CPR and AED skills. Heartsaver is designed for lay rescuers such as daycare providers, teachers, coaches and family members of patients at high risk for cardiac events.

Heartsaver CPR & AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Who Should Attend This Class: Anyone who wants to learn CPR skills for all age victims, as well as those who may have a duty to respond to cardiac emergencies in the workplace or community such as corporate and retail employees, police, security personnel, chiropractors, dental hygienists, fitness staff, daycare providers or family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
Skills Taught: Course teaches CPR for adult, child and infant victims; AED use in adults and children; and relief of choking in all ages.
You Learn to Help: Infants (0-12 months old), Children (1-8 years old), and Adults (8+ years).
Cost: $45; Books can be purchased for $15.
 
The American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Who Should Attend This Class: The course is designed for, but not limited to, licensed and certified healthcare professionals such as physicians; nurses; paramedics; EMTs; respiratory, physical, or occupational therapists; physician assistants; students preparing for a licensed healthcare profession; and other allied health personnel.
Skills Taught: The most comprehensive basic life support, CPR and AED skills for those working in a healthcare setting.
You Learn to Help: Infants (0-12 months), Children (1-8 years), Adults (8+ years).
Course Credential Card Received: Yes, valid for two years.
Cost: New certification $50; Re-certification $45; Books can be purchased for $15.
